For most grading projects, we will first conduct a topographic survey, determine existing site elevations and drainage patterns, and strategically relocate soil on your property to improve water drainage and provide the needed foundation for landscaping or construction projects. With proper grading, you'll reduce erosion, eliminate pooling or flooding, and improve the overall usability of your property.
The City of Toronto requires a grading permit for most projects involving elevation changes of >30cm. All necessary documentation, including drainage calculations and site plans, are prepared and submitted by our licensed civil engineers to expedite municipal approvals.
We provide grading quotes based on site dimensions, soil composition, and the steepness of existing slopes. Although we ever very detail-oriented in our estimates, it's possible that unforeseen subsurface conditions (such as buried debris) could require additional work and specialized equipment for removal (e.g., bedrock).
